Energy Levels in Projectors

One of the biggest misconceptions I notice in projectors is that once we find out we’re a “non-energy” type, we take that as we can’t or don’t have energy for ANYthing.

Some projectors are energy projectors and some projectors are non-energy projectors, but this doesn’t mean what you might think.

So let’s dig into this to combat any misinformation you may have thought was true up until now.

First, what’s the difference between “energy” projectors and “non-energy” projectors?

The answer is: Not much.

Do energy projectors have more physical energy? Yes.

Does that mean that non-energy projectors have no physical energy? Absolutely not.

It’s the WAY you use your energy and how efficient you have to be with it.

There are 4 “motor centers” in the Human Design chart.

Motor centers provide stable, steady, and sustainable energy for doing things.

In order of how much energy they provide, here are the 4 motor centers:

  • Sacral Center – No projectors have this. This is only a center that Generators and Manifesting Generators have.
  • Emotional Center – Only Emotional Authorities have this center defined. So an Emotional Authority Projector has this center defined.
  • Root Center – This is found only in either Splenic Authorities, Sacral Authorities, or Emotional Authorities.
  • Ego/Heart Center – Any type can have this center defined, the ones that DON’T have it are Self-Projected Projectors, Mental Projectors (sidenote: mental or “no authority” types DOESN’T mean that the mind is the authority, but that’s a topic for another day), and Reflectors.

These 4 centers provide the extra physical energy to those who have them defined.

Therefore, if you have at least ONE of them defined in your chart, you’re classified as an “energy” projector. You can have any combination of them, but having at least one classifies you as an energy projector.

However, if you have none of those 4 motor centers defined, you’re classified as a “non-energy” projector.

I’m a Self-Projected Projector, so I’m technically classified as a non-energy projector. But as you can see, I have a blog, a podcast, and many other things that I do each day. So, what do these mean, really?

Like all types, you have more energy for the things you LOVE to do.

This gets frequently overlooked, but think about something you hate doing. How motivated are you to do it? Probably not very motivated.

Energy projectors have a motor center that they can TAKE energy FROM in order to “do” the things that they need to do.

Whereas with non-energy projectors, it’s MUCH more difficult, because we don’t have any baseline motor centers at the ready.

So practically, what do you do?

Like in all open centers, you take in and AMPLIFY the energy around you from those who have the center defined where you’re open.

So for non-energy projectors, just being around someone, in the same room or even on a call with someone who has a motor center, will help you get motivated and have a burst of energy to do the things you need to do. Because you take in that energy and amplify it.

But you may feel a “crash” after the person leaves, it could slowly fade or be more abrupt, it just depends. It’s kind of like a caffeine rush or a sugar rush.

The thing to remember is that you are not meant to HOLD this energy or sustain it. So having a detox at the end of the day, or consciously releasing the energy when you’re done is a cruical part of self-care. If you don’t release it, you’ll burn out.

And yet, at the same time, if you’re really passionate about something, you’re excited to do it, right? Yes! So you’ll find that you actually have much more energy for those things and thinking “non-energy” means that you can’t have energy is actually limiting you.

For me, I love to write. I love to sing. I love to dance. I love to learn things. I love to spend time with my friends.

And I can do all of these every day because I give myself ample time to decompress AND relax in between them.

I take multiple naps a day.

Seriously, like 2 or 3. And while some other people may see that as “lazy”, it’s something that helps me recoup my energy to continue on throughout the day. So F what everyone else says. Do what feels GOOD and RIGHT for YOU.

The only limits you have are the ones you choose to believe are true.

All projectors need rest.

As a projector, regardless of anything else, you’ll need more rest than others (besides reflectors). But whatever way and whatever level of rest you find rejuvenating, that is the right level for you.

I used to overdo my rest because as soon as I found out I was supposed to rest, I took it as an excuse for me to do nothing. But that actually still drained me and I was SO confused for a few weeks.

It wasn’t until I liberated myself from overdoing the self-care that I realized I didn’t need THAT much. Granted, I still need a lot, but not 24/7.

And if you’re a projector who’s thinking “I don’t really need much rest now that I think about it,” that’s totally fine!

Some people only need the weekend to themselves. Some people only need one self-care thing per day. Some need multiple. Some need mainly self-care. It literally doesn’t matter if you need more or less, there’s no right or wrong. There’s only what’s correct for YOU.

Likewise, some people get energy from rest, others get energy from being more active. It’s YOUR body. What feels good for you?

Seriously, toss out ALL the expectations and ALL the “standards” and really ask yourself what is right for you.

You will find you have more energy around others.

Like I stated above, open centers take in and amplify the energy around them. So you may find that you have a lot of energy depending on the situation you’re in or the environment you’re in.

Even if you’re an introvert, like me, others may actually mistake you for an extrovert in certain situations becuase you’re essentially riding on a caffeine high of energy when you’re around them.

So if you think you’re an introvert, you probably are. And this may explain why you feel so talkative or so energetic around others.

There’s even more caveats in Human Design, so if any of this doesn’t “fit” you exactly the way I wrote it, don’t get discouraged. Human Design is called a Living Experiment for a reason.

Experiment with it. Experiment with your life. Find out what works for you. FInd out what makes sense right now and use that. It may make sense in the future. You never know unless you try and test it out.

But if you only take one thing from this article, as a projector, you aren’t limited to just doing nothing. And you DO have energy. You just have to learn to work and flow WITH it, instead of against it.

Happy experimenting!

The One Thing That Comes Before An Invitation As a Projector

As a projector, I’m sure you know the importance now of waiting for an invitation in doing what you do best — giving advice. However, if you don’t, you may want to take a quick peek at the blog post I wrote about invitations a few days ago. You can find it here.

But what isn’t talked about a lot is the thing that comes before an invitation, and it actually commonly gets misconstrued as an invitation.

I’m talking about… RECOGNITION.

What is Recognition?

Recognition is what you get from someone who truly SEES your genius and learns from you.

It’s when someone DM’s you and says “Thank you for creating this!”

It’s when your friend says that they love having you as their friend.

It’s when your teacher says they were happy you contributed in class today.

Recognition comes in many different forms, and just like invitations, it can be direct or indirect.

However, just because someone recognizes you DOESN’T mean that’s an invitation.

Wait, what?

Yep. As if deciphering an invitation wasn’t already hard enough, now we throw recognition into the mix.

But fear not, because I DO have a surefire way to help you decipher between the two going forward.

So let’s say that as a young projector, you’ve been told over and over again that the people around you don’t want your opinion.

I know, it sounds harsh, but a lot of projectors actually go through this.

Let’s say you are used to either getting backlash for trying to help others with your advice, or people try to ignore you now because they know you’ll try to tell them a better way to do something.

After years of this when we’re younger, we learn a few things that AREN’T true but FEEL true:

  1. When I give my opinion, I actually hurt others.
  2. If I reach out to anyone, they’re going to ignore me.
  3. I’m going to get rejected if I say what I truly feel.

Now, yes there are other things that we learn that deal deeper with our self-worth, but that’s a topic for another time.

The point is that we get so used to being shut down that we inadvertently have this complex in our minds that we need others approval before doing something — anything.

Enter, the Projector Paradox.

The Projector Paradox

The Projector Paradox is a term I made up, so you won’t find others using it. But let me explain why this is such a paradox.

Imagine being so observant to what others are doing that you could help them by telling them a better way to save time and energy.

Except, you can’t tell them because they haven’t recognized you — meaning that they won’t actually hear anything you say until they’ve recognized you.

But you still see it.

And they’re still wasting their time and energy.

What do you do?

Hence, the Projector Paradox. Which I guess could also be called the Invitation Paradox or the Recognition Paradox, depending on your preference.

The even crazier part here is that even if you WERE recognized by them, that doesn’t mean they’re open to your advice still.

Which just adds another layer onto the entire paradox!

I don’t know about you, but my head is spinning.

So let’s get out of the damn paradox, and find what we can do and what recognition is all about.

Recognition is your confirmation.

Treat recognition as your confirmation from the universe, (higher power, God, whatever you want to call it), that you’re heading in the right direction and that you’re on you life purpose path.

Recognition is someone else telling you they value you.

They value what you do, how you’ve helped them, and what you bring.

Recognition happens both before AND after an invitation.

We tend to speak about invitations and recognition like it’s a one time thing. But it’s not. We’re in a constant cycle of it.

Recognition happens, then an invitation, then recognition again, then another invitation, and so on.

Someone can recognize you for different topics you are knowledgeable about.

They can recognize you for different levels they didn’t realize you knew about those topics.

So, as you can see, recognition is NOT an invitation to give advice, but rather a gratefulness for YOU as a person, doing what you do.

What do we do with this?

As I’ve said, recognition comes both before and after an invitation. And there’s a way around recognition so that you can just continually receive invitations without needing formal recognition.

What’s that?

RECOGNIZE YOURSELF FIRST.

Yes.

Again, seriously.

Recognize yourself, your value, your genius, and your worth first.

When YOU recognize yourself, you’re CONFIDENT in what you say, what you do, and, ultimately, you’re confident in WHO YOU ARE.

Your energy is your greatest billboard. It speaks for you.

When you’re confident, you show it.

When you’re confident, you speak up.

When you’re confident, you allow yourself to shine.

And how do you become confident?

You RECOGNIZE YOURSELF.

The Projector Paradox 2.0

Another layer that I hadn’t told you yet was that you actually DON’T NEED others recognition.

You need YOUR OWN recognition.

And when you recognize yourself, you actually start to put yourself out there and you allow others to find you.

When you allow others to find you, you add value and bring impact to people’s lives.

When you add value and impact to people’s lives they want to invite you because they can tell that YOU’RE ready for the invitation.

Recognition is merely a step for you to show up and stand up to say “I’m ready for invitations.”

And once you really absorb and feel this to be true, you’ll start to see the shift.

Because all you ever needed was to recognize yourself first.

So what are you ready to be recognized for?

Recognize yourself first, and see what changes you make that then allows others to experience the you that is ready to be invited.

Confused on What to Do? Here’s a Way Out

Confusion usually comes up for us when we are resisting something.

We ALWAYS know what’s best for us and what’s the right next step for us. We’re Co-Creators in our lives. We have the 100% choice on what we do and when. And if you think about it, when you finally decide something, how long does it take for you to implement? Not very long (at least as long as you don’t allow fear or worry to stop you, but that’s a topic for a different time).

Confusion, when it’s about our own path, seems like we need more information before we can make a decision. However, more information actually leads to analysis paralysis.

Because whatever you WANT to do will have information to support it. But there will ALSO be information that is unsupportive.

That’s why we tend to have confirmation bias; where when we’re looking for supportive information of our opinion or desire, we find it and take it as truth, because it was what we WANTED to find. We’ll go deeper into confirmation bias in the future as well.

But there’s a few things that can help you get unstuck or out of the confusion quicker than simply “waiting” for the answer.

Ask yourself questions to journal

We can’t process things completely in our minds — even though our minds like to think we can. But just check in with how many times only processing in your mind has actually led you to the right answer. My guess is that you either weren’t able to finish processing OR you got into overthinking and decided to either do nothing or you acted impulsively.

No shame, no guilt. It just is what it is and it’s the same for everyone.

So to get out of this loop, break out a piece of paper and get writing.

Transferring your thoughts to paper not only help you see it outside of you, but it gives you a new perspective on it as a whole when you can then process the information you PREFER to write down.

The way you write something is slightly different than the way you speak or think about it.

That’s why some people are speakers and some people are writers. Usually you have a preference of one or the other.

And if you’re a speaker and prefer to process out loud, find yourself a trusted friend or advisor to help hear you out, NOT TO INSERT THEIR OPINION, but to simply help you get out what you need to and ask you questions to help you find your truth.

This is actually a very big reason people hire coaches; because coaches (depending on the coach, that is) but for the most part, coaches are there to help guide you to your core truth. That’s at least what I do as a coach, because NO ONE knows what you want to do more than you. There’s just mental blocks or something in the way, and I help remove that block.

Anyways back to the point.

Get your thoughts out of your head. Whether that’s in a journal or with someone else who you can trust to help you get to your core truth.

What questions can I ask myself?

The questions you ask yourself heavily depend on the situation you’re going through, but here’s a few generic ones that usually work for MOST situations.

  • What am I deciding?
  • Why is this decision important?
  • What is my fear for choosing either option? (or all the options, however many there are, what are the fears for each option?)
  • Which option would I choose if there were no negative consequences and it went as well as it could?
  • What part of me is telling me that I can’t go this way or that it won’t go well?

Essentially, you’re going to be looking for any catastrophizing, any limiting beliefs, any ego fears for safety from perceived danger, etc.

You could even give these questions to your trusted person to ask you as well.

And make sure you’re being 100% honest with yourself as well! If you aren’t fully honest and open about your answers, you’ll be keeping yourself in confusion and just wasing your time. So be 100% open and honest with yourself!

What if journaling it out doesn’t help?

If journaling it out doesn’t help, there are either of two things that can be at play here.

1. You might not be 100% open and honest in your answers.

When you’re being truly open and honest in your journaling session, you can find the root cause of the confusion. But some people aren’t used to this type of deep dive within themselves yet, and that’s okay. If it’s not working for you, it may be time to get someone to process with you, such as a friend, a close family member, a coach, a therapist, whoever you trust to help you walk through the situation and help you find the blocks and remove them. Remember: without their personal bias or opinion.

2. You may be too close to the situation to see it clearly.

Again, this happens to everyone. There’s things I go to my coach about, and things I process through myself. It just depends on what it is. So if you’ve tried journaling it out and it doesn’t work, don’t blame yourself for not being able to figure it out. It’s normal. And most likely, it just means that you deeply care about the situation. That’s a good thing! But not being able to see it clearly and make a decision is even more important in these instances. So find some support! Call your best friend. Schedule a coffee chat with them. Do something with the person you trust and ask if they can help you process this situation.

I know there’s a handful of people that don’t like seeking out help, but let me lovingly point out that not seeking out help is actually limiting you from making strides forward in your life. Would you rather stay stagnant and unable to make this decision for an indeterminate amount of time? Or put the pride aside and ask for help to figure it out much quicker?

But if you’re still against asking for help, here’s another way that’s really helped me and my clients in the past.

Commit to a “Day of Total Presence

This is what I called it when I did this for myself the first time and the name just stuck from then on when I recommended it to my clients and friends.

A Day of Total Presence is exactly what it sounds like. Let me explain.

You know how most of the time we’re on autopilot going through our day? Or we get constantly distracted by social media, people, thinking about the past, worrying about the future, all that super fun stuff?

A Day of Total Presence is the exact opposite.

It’s where you commit from morning to night to be present in the moment of what you’re doing.

Where when you drink your coffee in the morning, you are solely focused on drinking that cup of coffee.

When you’re scrolling on social media, you’re focused on each post that you scroll by.

And as you go through this day, you don’t plan ahead. You just FLOW with what you want to do, when you want to do it.

Meaning mindless tv is out the window! If you’re watching tv, you’re focused and actually WATCHING it.

Nothing in this day is autopilot. At least to the best of your ability.

Why a Day of Total Presence?

When we spend too much time in the past or the future, we lose focus and meaning of what NOW is.

Except, everything that is reality is happening NOW.

So bringing yourself back into the present moment reconnects you to WHO. YOU. ARE.

Confusion is based on the fact that we don’t know which way to go. Which to some degree, means we don’t know who we are.

Think about it. If you’re a singer, you sing. If you’re a writer, you write.

If you’re the type of person who drinks coffee, you drink coffee. If you’re the type of person who hangs out with their friends on the weekend, that’s exactly what you do.

Confusion about a decision comes from not knowing which identity we want to be. A person who does the thing, or a person who doesn’t and does the other thing.

And you’ll find that if you feel exhausted, drained, burned out, etc. most of the time, it’s because you actually DON’T want to do the thing you’re forcing yourself to do.

And noticing this brings up all sorts of limiting beliefs, which we won’t go into here because that’s a long list, but recognize that if you’re feeling this way, you may be ready to stop doing it or choose something else.

I’ll gve you an example from my own life.

What does this look like?

I had to take a Day of Total Presence recently because I had set myself a morning and day routine but I just felt SO exhausted and drained of energy, that I didn’t end up doing ANY of it.

Through my own journaling I found that I was dreading the routine, but I couldn’t figure out why.

So I decided to take this day to reconnect with myself.

I did everything that day intentionally, I allowed myself the freedom to do whatever I wanted to do.

I ended up starting to learn a new language, starting to look up singing practices, and got rid of my entire routine that I had mentally chosen before this day.

I noticed what I did that day and when.

I then took THAT day and structured it as my new routine. Because clearly, that’s the way my energy was flowing best and having the most fun.

And low and behold — ALL of my exhaustion went away. I was no longer drained. I had energy and excitement to do the things I wanted to.

And ALL of this came from just one day of total presence.

I know that eventually when my energy shifts again, it’ll be time to take another day of total presence to figure out how to structure it next. It’s an ever-flowing process because you’re an ever-changing human being.

You aren’t the same person you were a year ago. And if you are, it may be time for a change or a refresh.

The bottom line

When you feel confused, you don’t need to tell yourself “I don’t know!” or “I can’t figure it out!”

Because yes, you can. It’s just whether or not you will ALLOW yourself to figure it out.

I’ve just given you three fantastic tools.

Put them into use and see how your life changes and shifts to be what you truly want.

So, have you tried any of these before? Or have you found something that helps you out of confusion that I didn’t add to this list? Let me know!

Where to be Online as a Projector in Business

There’s so much contradictory information out there about “what platform to be on to succeed”. And let me be the first to say: it’s all bullshit.

While, yes, there are certain places more people are, such as Instagram and Facebook, that doesn’t mean you HAVE to be there too.

ESPECIALLY if your energy just abhorrs those platforms.

Great news! You don’t HAVE to be on them if you don’t want to be.

So where should a Projector in business be online? Let’s dig into it.

First, step away from the business rules you’ve been taught.

Most likely, you’ve learned business strategy from Generators or Manifesting-Generators. I know I did!

I was SO upset with myself that none of the business strategies were working for me.

I thought there was something inherently wrong with me.

People didn’t like ME when I used those strateiges.

Why?

Because it didn’t FIT my energy.

It was like trying to fit myself in a box that was already full. I wasn’t even in the box at all. So I just metaphorically carried around the heavy box hoping one day I might be able to fit inside of it.

Narrator: that didn’t happen.

In fact, it only got worse because I got SO tired of carrying around the box.

It was draining, exhausting, and it really took the fun and enjoyment out of being in the business world.

I was so discouraged!

How did it change for me?

I started listening to my intuition, and you should too.

When I finally started just releasing what wasn’t for me, when I finally just set down the box and walked away from it, I started feeling lighter.

I started feeling like I could move freely again.

I felt like a breath of fresh air filled my lungs.

It did take me a while to recover, with the bitterness I felt and all, but once I did: I felt free from the heaviness that held me back.

I questioned “Okay, if all of that wasn’t working for me, what will?”

I started doing the exact opposite of what I was being told.

And, not everything needed to be the exact opposite, but the point is that I allowed myself to FIND what worked for ME.

And that’s where you may want to start as well.

So, where do you want to be?

Let’s say you scrapped everything you’ve been taught about how “business is supposed to look” right now.

And you were just leading with your energy and where you DESIRE to be.

What platform would you choose to be on?

Do you prefer short quips and dropping words of wisdom quickly? Twitter or platforms similar to Twitter may be for you!

Do you like community and being able to chat with other people, be in the support groups, and just give advice (with detachment of course!)? You may enjoy platforms like Facebook groups, Reddit, or other places you can gather virtually.

Do you like writing longer posts and really getting crafty with your words? Blog sites like WordPress, Medium, and similar sites would be great.

There’s a whole long list of other choices too, but you get the point.

And while we’re on the topic…

When you start scraping everything you’ve learned, you may notice that the niche you chose in the first place just isn’t what you want to do.

Some more great news: You can pivot and change it.

Most people don’t allow themselves the freedom to change their minds.

But why would you rather be stuck in something that you hate JUST to say you “haven’t changed your mind”?

What’s wrong with changing your mind?

Absolutely NOTHING is wrong with changing.

In fact, people who haven’t changed in months (or even years, yikes!), are the exact people who are stuck and stagnant.

Now, I’m not saying that you have to change your niche every few months or years, I’m saying that change bring evolution. No matter what area of life it is in. And you have the 100% choice to change whatever you want, whenever you want.

And ANYONE who tells you differently is just upset because they want to change too, but they don’t have the courage to do so yet. So they’d rather shame you than make the change themselves.

The Bottom Line

YOU decide where to be in life. YOU have the power to change your situation. And only YOU can figure out what’s in alignment with your energy.

Starting with your business platform if you want. But you could start anywhere else in your life if that feels right.

So, where do YOU want to be? And what do you feel YOU need to change to live a better, more aligned, life for yourself?

Have fun!

When You Find Out You’re a Projector in Human Design…

When I found out I was a Projector, I was honestly surprised.

“No motor centers? No energy??” were some of my first thoughts followed by a recollection of working 80 hour weeks as a manager, and the straight year or so of working 2 full-time jobs while also in college full-time.

But yes, it was true.

I was a Projector.

And it felt like a death sentence.

“I can’t do anything? I can’t start anything? Wtf??”

I had no idea what to do, where to begin, or how to even process the information I had just found.

All I knew was that my life was about to change, and I had absolutely no idea what the other side of that change was going to look like.

Sound familiar?

It seems like this experience is some sort of Projector right of passage.

Every Projector I know has had such an un-Projector-like past. But, in a world made for Generators, why am I even surprised?

There’s more than a few things I want you, fellow Projector, to know as you embark on this journey.

1. You’re not alone.

It may seem like we’re all swimming in a pool filled with Generators and Manifesting Generators, but there’s more of us around than you’d think.

For instance, my partner is a Projector. My friends are mainly Mani-Gens, and I have a Manifestor Brother, but I know a good handful of Projectors now that I’m in the Human Design world. And I now know more Projectors than any other type.

When we find out we’re Projectors, it’s like our energy finally takes a breath of fresh air and relaxes, whether willingly or unwillingly to do so consciously. But at this moment, our lighthouse light turns on. And other Projectors seem to find us.

And suddenly, we feel like we’re not alone anymore. Because, truly, we aren’t alone.

2. Please, take a breath. Take a few… or more, even.

The life you’ve been conditioned and groomed for up until now has likely been harsh to your energetic field. Your body, your mind, maybe everything is just… tired. Exhausted.

You know the feeling when you get home from work on a Friday night and finally get to sit on the couch, knowing you don’t have to do anything again until Monday? That’s the feeling.

The relief. The relaxation. The rest.

(Perhaps mostly the relief.)

And maybe it’s been awhile since you’ve actually rested. I know it was a loooong time for me. I honestly don’t think I ever truly rested until figuring out I was a Projector. And if you’re like me, you’re in for a lovely awakening because rest is LIFE.

And it’s quite peaceful.

3. Rest, rest, and rest some more.

Burnout is very real.

Not only is burnout hurtful to mental health, but as Projectors, it takes a particularly hard toll on our bodies — because we’ve been trying to force ourselves to be something we’re not.

So, what are the moments that make you feel peaceful? What truly brings you joy without needing to “do” anything?

Maybe it’s painting. Maybe it’s sitting by the water. Maybe it’s playing music. Or maybe it’s simply just sitting and enjoying a cup of (decaf) coffee.

Whatever it is, do it. Do more of it.

Recharge your energy. Release the energy and adrenaline and stress and anxiety that isn’t yours to hang onto.

Literally, you can help your body do this by relaxing your eyebrows, your jaw, relax your cheeks, your shoulders, relax your stomach, your legs, your feet, and relax your hands.

How does that feel in your body? Probably relieving.

Release. Relax. Rest.

4. You are Brilliant. Wise. And needed.

Now that I think we’ve covered, and emphasized, the importance of rest, let’s talk about the blessing it is to be a Projector.

Don’t scoff yet. I’m serious.

It took me over a year to start seeing why being a Projector is a blessing, but I’ll help you start seeing it today.

People need you.

People. Need. YOU.

You see them more deeply than you could ever explain in words.

Whether you see what they’re thinking, what they’re afraid of, what excites them, who they are, what mood they’re in, how they feel about themselves, or what pressures they’re dealing with — you truly SEE them.

With this gift, you can help others navigate their lives more smoothly.

Efficiency is the name and life is the game.

You can take one look at someone who’s working on a project and instantly be able to tell where it can be improved, use less energy, or overcome the roadblocks or challenges.

And that’s just one of the many, many gifts you have as a Projector.

5. You’ve been given the gift of time and joy.

Projectors need to wait for the invitation. But what the heck do we do while we wait??

Play. Explore. Experiment. Learn. Study. Have fun. Dive deep into your passions and interests.

What’s the thing that you constantly think about or talk about?

What’s the thing you nerd-out about?

Master it. Play in it. Enjoy it.

The biggest blessing you have is that people will automatically come to you when they’re ready to invite you. Meaning, you don’t have to go around convincing 1000 people to invite you, see you, hear you, or appreciate you.

That’s not an efficient use of your energy. You’re not here to convince people that you’re worth it.

All these things are automatically magnetized to you when you’re in your zone of genius.

You can spend time just being you. You can spend time just learning and studying what you enjoy.

You have been given the blessing of time.

You have the time. Use it well.

Final Thoughts

I’m not going to say it’ll be all sunshine and rainbows.

Deconditioning is going to happen the more you are aware of your conditioning, and it can be a lowkey version of hell. Kind of like the dark night of the soul, but the Projector-version.

But it’s so worth it. And depending on your life previous to finding out that you’re a Projector, the process will vary widely. It could be easier, or it could be more difficult, it just depends on who you were conditioned to be and how deep that conditioning runs.

But again, it’s so worth it.

You’re a Projector. There’s so much depth and brilliance that you have.

I like to think of every Projector as a gemstone. No matter what kind, where it came from, what it’s been through, or how long it’s been conserved in the Earth, at some point the gemstone will be seen by others.

Don’t be discouraged for needing to extract the gemstone from the Earth it has laid in. It went through the rough, the molding, and the growing — and now that you’ve found Human Design, it’s ready to come out and see the light as the beautiful gemstone it really is.

This is your beginning.

You are getting ready to be seen, finally, for who you truly are.

Are you ready?

Succeeding as a Projector in Business is Mainly About 5 Key Things

It still took me a year to really experiment and decondition from all the unaligned advice I had been given, but once I did, the flood gates opened.

I’ve been in business for almost 3 years now and it took me over 2 years to figure out what the heck was going on. Not because I didn’t try, but because I was following all the streamlined information I found and people who didn’t understand me.

1 year in, I found Human Design. I immediately found out I was a Projector and had one of the biggest aha moments of my life.

It still took me a year to really experiment and decondition from all the unaligned advice I had been given, but once I did, the flood gates opened.

Where I used to be stressed out, burned out, bitter, and testing every “business strategy” in the book (with a fall down failure each time); now I’m calm, content, relaxed, rested, and progressing rapidly.

Where I used to get no views, little engagement, and feeling the need to post everywhere to be seen and heard (which still didn’t work); now I focus on a few select things that I love and it feels freeing.

The crazy thing is, just because I found out I was a Projector 1 year in, didn’t mean I started running my business that way. In fact, I started running my business solely as a Projector in December 2021.

And yet, in that short period of time, I’ve gained more traction than in my first 2 full years.

In short, this works. And I’m not the only one it works for.

So if you’re a Projector in Human Design and you want to start a business, here are the 5 key things you really need to know.

1. You are not here to convince others of your worth.

Cold calling, cold DMing, or any other form of outreach really isn’t meant for you. I’m not saying it won’t work, it could. But it’ll be much more resistant-filled, draining, and energy-wasting.

You are meant to see people where they are. You are meant to master and improve systems. You are meant to guide. You are meant to wait for the invitation.

Meaning, you are meant for people to come to you; not the other way around.

In business? That means attraction marketing. And it’s actually a business strategy on the rise (thank goodness).

Attraction marketing is about speaking about your services and products and allowing others to come to you.

And this plays perfectly with the Projector strategy.

All you need to do is show up and be findable. The right people will find you.

2. Bitterness is a signpost to misalignment.

I spent way too much time playing in the bitter-barn while I was trying to make other platforms work. But those didn’t align with my energy.

They felt forced. Constrictive. Limited. Boxed in. Unauthentic. Draining.

It wasn’t until I finally allowed myself to step back and recalibrate that I found the correct areas for me and my precious energy.

It’ll be the same for you.

In business? Don’t force yourself to be somewhere that drains you and that makes you hate it. Find what feels good. And yes, there IS a place that will feel good.

There are so many options out there. Your energy will radiate with positivity when you find the right ones for you.

So when you feel bitter, check-in with yourself. Why do you feel bitter? How often have you felt bitter recently? Is there a pattern to when you find yourself feeling bitter?

Check-in and recalibrate.

3. Speak from your definition and guide in your openness.

This is actually something that I cover in-depth in Niche by Design, but I still want to point it out here.

In your energy, you are most familiar with where you’re definition is. And you learn your deepest wisdom through your openness.

Showing your abilities and skills online starts best when you speak from what you know. It’s already a learning curve to become an entrepreneur, so make it easier for yourself by sticking to what you know and can easily talk about.

This tends to impact your niche the most, but either way, start with what you know.

4. Rest and relax more than you think you should.

As a Projector, you probably were taught to live like a Generator. That “working hard” and “putting in more hours” and “hustling and grinding” is the way to success.

But that’s the polar opposite of what is really true for you.

The more space you let your energy have, the more productive you actually are. I know that sounds counterintuitive because it is.

For example, I used to work myself 6 to 14 hours a day (yes, it varied widely). And what do I have to show for it? Nothing.

Absolute bupkis.

Actually, I have negative results instead: burnout, exhaustion, bitterness…

But when I switched the way I worked to working on my energy’s best schedule and for less than 4 hours a day, look at what I have to show for it:

  • A blog that is consistently uploaded to every week and gets found every day without me having to push it out
  • A podcast that gets uploaded to twice a week and gets found every day without me pushing it out
  • An email list that grows every week — almost every single day
  • The feelings of happiness, contentment, joy, and optimism for working every day doing something I truly enjoy
  • The space to learn a language and play music and still have time for making delicious meals as well as spending a few hours a week with friends
  • Naps, Rest, Netflix, a good amount of Sleep…

These last few may seem like small things, but when you were working as hard as I was, you understand how these little things mean so much more.

Not only have I gained followers, subscribers, listeners, and an engaged audience, but I’ve been honored to have a good number of these same people reach out to me and connect with me 1:1.

I know their names, their designs, their likes and interests, and we’ve become virtual friends.

I know people all over the world, from Canada and Australia to India and the Netherlands.

And it fills my heart with fulfillment and joy to see the impact I’ve made and to personally know their amazing achievements.

My business isn’t just a business — it’s a community. And that means more to me than any amount of money ever could.

And all this came from just switching the way I worked! How beautiful is that?

I’m grateful every day that this is my life.

5. Being in alignment means finding the most aligned path for your highest potential.

I won’t sit here and say that I’m always aligned. That’s part of being human and enjoying the experiences here. We get to realign ourselves when we feel we’ve stepped in the wrong direction.

We learn things from our misalignment. And we feel comforted and like we’ve made progress when we come back into alignment.

We need both.

But being in alignment with your energy in your business opens up a whole new world for you, one you may never have expected.

I honestly never thought I would be a writer. I actively resisted it (while I was still in conditioning). Yet here we are, and I feel like this is what my energy wanted from me all along.

It makes me happy. It feels good. It feels right.

This is who I am. And I know it’s leading me somewhere amazing. And it will be the same for you.

And in business? Alignment is success. So why spend any more time trying to fit in where you were born to stand out?

Final Thoughts

Living in alignment does so much more than we can even imagine. From career and business to personal relationships and health, living as who you are with your true energy brings the potential for miracles.

When you stop resisting the true nature of your energy, you’ll be able to find and have everything you’ve ever dreamed of.

And it’ll be a lot easier to start now than to go down the same path I did.
